Network Usage Guidelines

Campus Network Usage Guidelines Q&A

To maintain stable campus network operations and provide diverse services, the Information and Library Office has established campus networks, wireless networks, and dormitory networks for faculty, staff, and students. In order to strengthen management and comply with the Ministry of Education’s information security requirements, a comprehensive network management mechanism has been implemented. We kindly ask all users to make full use of these resources.

  1. Set the IP address of the dormitory, wireless, or lab network card to “Obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP)”.
  2. Disable browser proxy settings; set connection to “Never dial a connection”.
  3. Open a browser and log in with your campus account and password for registration.
  4. Select “Dormitory Network” or “Wireless Network”, wait until the completion message appears, and you should be able to connect within 5–10 minutes.
  5. Each student is limited to one registration. After successful registration, please wait 10 minutes before restarting the computer.
  6. If installing a wireless access point, connect it to the campus network port and complete registration before use.
  7. Refer to the relevant guide for detailed instructions.

  1. Daily total traffic (upload + download) = 1024MB. Exceeding this limit will result in disconnection until 5:00 AM the next day.
  2. No traffic limit applies outside of dormitories and wireless networks.
  3. For academic needs, users may apply via “Campus Information Portal > Information & Library Services > Information Service Application” to increase the daily limit up to 20GB.

  1. First, check the Blocked List.
  2. Viruses or abnormal traffic may result in temporary suspension. Please ensure your system is secure.
  3. Do not install P2P software (e.g., BitTorrent, eMule, Foxy, etc.) to avoid legal issues or malware infections.

  1. Go to “Campus Information Portal > Information & Library Services > Information Service Application” and submit a request form to delete the original registration data.

  1. Contact the dorm supervisor (Ext. 2111) or the Information Group, Office of Information and Library Services (Ext. 8312).

  1. Supports Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11n/b/g.
  2. Restricted to campus resources only.
