Campus Network Facilities

External Network Bandwidth & Backup Mechanism

The university’s total external network bandwidth reaches 3.1 Gbps. In addition to a dedicated connection to the Taiwan Academic Network (TANet), we also lease four 500 Mbps/500 Mbps lines and one 100 Mbps FTTB line from the commercial ISP HiNet, serving as backup routes. This redundancy mechanism allows traffic redirection for specific network segments or international flows, effectively compensating for insufficient international bandwidth on the academic network.

To enhance network stability, the university has implemented an “External Network Backup Management System.” When TANet experiences disconnection, the backup routes can be activated immediately to ensure uninterrupted service, achieving seamless network continuity.

Campus Network Switching Architecture

Each campus building is equipped with edge network switches, adopting 10 Gigabit managed Ethernet switching devices with scalability. Each port supports up to 1 Gigabit throughput, ensuring fast and stable data transmission across the campus network.
